Reports To : Senior Sourcing Manager
Supervises: Merchandiser / Associate Merchandiser / Merchandiser / Senior Merchandiser
Position Summary: This position is responsible for leading, coaching and managing a group of merchandising team, in order to attain the company’s goals and objectives. All the merchandising activities are in accordance with company polices and systems. It should take corrective action if any problems arise in procedure or process, in order to assure the smooth operation in merchandise processing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist SSM to aggressively source specific products and support on development projects assigned by Corporate and travel to designated countries if required.
Issue periodical new item submission and market reports by updating management of any market trend or industry information and conduct constant market research i.e. attending trade shows / close communication with vendors.
Prepare for Sourcing Directors, Product Development Team and buyer’s visits and to work with them during buying trips.
Work closely with merchandising staff, supporting departments and vendor to ensure prompt and problem free shipments to maintain high standard of follow up work and make sure on-time shipment and good quality merchandises to be shipped to our department stores.
Prepare cost details from merchandising staff / vendors and provide it to SSM/ SD for placing orders in competitive prices.
Maintain good vendor relationship and ensure vendors understand and comply to our company policies.
Coach and develop department associates in merchandising procedures/ systems and ensure they fully understand and comply with company policies and systems.
Evaluate performance through probation review and annual appraisal for Senior Merchandiser, Merchandiser, Associate Merchandiser and Assistant Merchandiser for SSM’s review.
Report and make recommendation to top management in order to improve merchandising procedure or process.
Ensure IMA set up and I2K contract to be transmitted per time line.
Ensure the Costing Model has accurate FOB price details and duty rate for ELC cost.
Back up to SSM when he/she is traveling or absent.
Act as a communication channel between supporting departments and vendors.
Support Ad hoc assignments as necessary.

Additional Job Requirements
Form 5 standard or equivalent
6 – 8 years working experience in merchandising field, preferably in US buying office
Solid background in sourcing experience
Management skills and practice are essential
Good command in both written and verbal English.
Work independently, energetic and responsible
Tactful management skills, problem solving skills and leadership skills
Strong negotiation, presentation and organizational skills
Willing to traveling if necessary
