Shishu Polli Plus (SPP) an NGO working for destitute women and children at Sreepur; Gazipur district is inviting applications from the experienced rehabilitation professionals with team management experience to fill up the position of Program Coordinator- Rehabilitation and Livelihood Development based at Sreepur, Gazipur. (Re-advertisement)
Job Summary::
To ensure the development and implementation of all rehabilitation programs for the mothers and children from the initial identification of appropriate admissions to post discharge support. To rehabilitate them within the three year (maximum stay) residential program. Tailor individual programmes that will vary in length and content from beneficiary to beneficiary. To then support community re-integration as empowered family units.
Ensure development of mother and children through different learning and capacity building programs to enhance the knowledge and life skills of the beneficiaries to help them rehabilitate in the community and to generate income to cope with the real life situation. To also run various activities to ensure proper socialization of the beneficiary mothers and children.
To oversee fostering programmes
To ensure the team provides clinical rehabilitation treatment to beneficiaries as required.
Duties & Responsibilities::
Prepare outlines for the education and skill development program with educational goals and specific knowledge, skills, and other attitudes expected of the beneficiaries at each level of training and for each major program assignment.
Livelihood & Life Skills: Design and oversee training program to develop Life Skills for the beneficiaries catered to the need of different group of mother and children as per their age group which aim is to generate income at their own community.
Strategically develop our rehabilitation practice using a holistic approach and evidence-based practice.
Rehabilitation planning and assessment: To ensure assessment of the different needs of the different beneficiaries and develop individual rehabilitation plans.
Socialization activities: Looking after outgoing beneficiaries socialization activities at our Halfway House and arrange outreach programs for mothers and children in a regular manner.
Rehabilitation treatment: Assess any mothers and children with medical rehabilitation needs (physical or psychiatric) and ensure they are treated appropriately.
Fostering: Plan and implement our ongoing fostering program- according to the given policy and procedural guideline.
Assessment of beneficiaries for job placement: Assess/arrange the assessment of the skills of different group of beneficiaries, especially mothers and have input in to their training and support them in to appropriate jobs in the community.
Researching job markets/liaising with potential employers: Conduct research in the different job markets matched with the skills of mothers and in some cases older children (big girls) to identify opportunities for income generation after rehabilitation. Communicate and liaise with different group of potential employers for placement of beneficiaries and ensure regular communication and update about SPP activities and secure support from them for job placement.
Community placement and follow up: Ensure community placement as per the identified need and placement plan for different group of beneficiaries with necessary support in terms of financial, educational, medical and job placement support. Monitor and follow up the total process of community placement.
Manage our Kurigram admission and outreach project.
Network with NGO’s, GO/’s and commercial companies to determine trends and the best rehabilitation program to ensure mothers have productive and sustainable livelihoods.

Job Nature

Educational Requirements
Should have a degree in rehabilitation profession or in rehabilitation science.
Applicants’ with social science, social welfare etc.
Degrees may be considered if they have show a sound knowledge of rehabilitation process and have worked with rehabilitation services.

Experience Requirements
Minimum 3 year(s)

Additional Job Requirements
At least three years practical experience in capacity building and rehabilitation field is desirable.
Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team is essential.

Salary Range
TK. 30000
