About the role:
Christian Aid is looking for a Programme Officer, Gender and Governance for supporting and managing Christian Aid Bangladesh Country Programme, particularly overseeing the partnerships and programme as well as the effective allocation and disbursement of funds to Christian Aid partners in line with the agreed plan. The role works within the International Programme role specifically for Bangladesh Country Programme where special contribution will be required on Christian Aid policy and strategy on gender and governance.
The role is responsible for develop and operationalize Gender Strategy for the Country Programme in line with the Corporate Gender Strategy. As Country Gender Focal Point providing technical capacity building support to local partners, ensuring compliance with contracts and donor requirements, networking and advocacy work on key policy issues.
Reporting to the Programme Manager this role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners and institutional donors. You will also work closely with regional office for South Asia and Christian Aid UK-based colleagues.

Educational Requirements
You will need to have educated to post graduate level or equivalent degree preferably in social science, development studies, international relations or any other relevant field;

Additional Job Requirements
About you:
You will need to have Programme management experience, be committed to working in partnership and have a good grasp of results-based monitoring and evaluation. You will be familiar with institutional donors such as DFID, the EU, and have an understanding of financial controls and procedures. A strong understanding of gender, governance, power and exclusion is essential.
Knowledge of development issues and current affairs in Bangladesh and South Asia Region-social exclusion and poverty and governance
Good understanding of equity, inclusion and governance with a particular focus on Human Rights and caste based discrimination (CBD)
Five years relevant experience of project cycle management and programme responsibilities, including administration
Experience of implementation and monitoring of development projects in relevant areas
Policy and strategy development
Strong ability to identify opportunities to translate and integrate development issues such as Dalit human rights, gender, and governance into development programmes and their linkages with poverty and human rights
Establishing, maintaining and utilizing a broad network of contacts. Building partnerships and strategic alliances. Leveraging the resources of national governments and other development partners
confident and clear communication skills, with an ability to transmit key messages in a variety of ways, appropriate to different audiences

Other Benefits
Salary: BDT 1,144,586 – BDT 1,283,643 gross per annum plus medical reimbursement, provident fund, gratuity and medical insurance.
