Manager Finance – SMEC International Pty Ltd

Job Description / Responsibility
SMEC invites application from the suitable candidates as ‘Manager Finance (South Asia – II)’ based in Bangladesh. He/she shall be responsible for all activities of SMEC in South Asia (Bangladesh-Nepal) and Indian Ocean region that relates with development and procurement of business.
Reports to: Primary Report to Regional Director/Manager (South Asia- II) & Secondary Report to Divisional General Manager- Finance & Group General Manager Finance (Corporate)
Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly financial reporting process and production of monthly subsidiary Management Pack on a timely basis for sending to Australia
To ensure the monthly Management Pack is prepared directly from the underlying accounting General Ledger (Epicor Accounting System) and agrees to annual audited local statutory accounts. Any differences to be itemised and reported separately
To ensure reporting is in line with SMEC Group policies and project plans are kept up to date
Analyse monthly Management Pack and resolve issues as they arise and assist the RD/RM prepare the Executive Summary and Financial Strategy for South Asia – II
To ensure local registrations and other mandatory requirements are complied with for the SMEC International branch and South Asia – II subsidiaries (e.g. tax registrations & payments)
Liaise with the Melbourne Tax Team and external advisers to ensure full compliance with SMEC’s Group tax strategy
Manage the annual statutory audit of SMEC South Asia – II and detailed reconciliation back to the reported Management Pack
Review monthly general ledger reconciliations for SMEC South Asia – II (where applicable)
Manage the annual budget process for South Asia – II and reforecasts during the year
To support the RD and RM with financial solutions to technical and strategic issues
Lead, develop, motivate and train the finance team
Prepare and assist with other ad hoc financial queries (including proposal costing preparation) , due diligences and reports
Monitor banking limits, working capital and cash flow requirements
Management/ driving of invoicing (in accordance with contracts) and cash collection
Ensure internal controls are maintained at the highest levels
Ensure there is adherence to the SMEC BMS and liaise with the Group Internal Audit Team to manage internal audits of financial processes
Ensure there is timely and open communication with Divisional Finance Management and SMEC Corporate Finance Team in Melbourne
Monitor the monthly project review process and analyze project results.

Strong project management skills to meet multiple deadlines
Strong moral character with ability to stand up to unethical procedures and report them to Corporate Finance
Knowledge of obligations under the SMEC BMS
Professional delivery and appearance to ensure SMEC image is maintained
Courteous and business orientated manner when communicating with stakeholders to foster and promote good working relations; Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment
Willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge & ability to apply new knowledge
